After years of doing tests I have discovered the one pose that shows off the basic build of model in an attractive pose. It may look easy, but it will take you some practice to get it right. This shot can be used to attach to the model's application or to mail to editor for approval.*
The Basic Shot
First: Have the model take a 'golf type stance' sideways to camera
feet slightly apart.
Second: Have her twist her TOP toward the camera without twisting her
ass away from the camera.
You may have to help her with this since it is a bit of a stretch for some
models. If you find you must do it by 'hand', use a firm but gentle method.
Touch her on the hip bone telling her to hold it in position. Then gently
push her shoulder around.
Third: Have her put her hands on her waist so they won't cover or interfere
with the line of her ass.
The Ass Shot
You always want to be sure to do shots of the model's best assets. Models with great asses should have a shot of their rears for your files and perhaps to send to editors.
A shot from the rear with the model on her toes and her legs together with a slight bend at the waist will usually suffice to give the general idea. If you have a model who can really bend over and keep her back straight, then be sure to do one of those too. Posing ass tests.
The Tit Shot
There are few models that sell better than one with big tits. Although the fervor for huge plastic tits is now coming to a lull, the search for the real thing still continues. The best shot to show the tits is closer than the ones used for general or legs and ass.
Remember that whatever it is that you are trying to concentrate on...whether it be tits, ass or feet...you should put your camera level to be the same. Posing tit tests
The Legs Shot
Leg Magazines are very popular right now, but are much more difficult to shoot for than you might imagine. You would do well to study the lesson on shooting for these magazines before you think about submitting a test shot. There are still a few things you should do in shooting a Polaroid or color print shot for your test. Remember to keep low. That makes the legs look long.
